HIV AWARENESS

    Description

HIV stands for Human Immunodeficiency Virus. It is a virus that attacks the body’s immune system, which helps us fight infections and diseases.

If HIV is not treated, it can lead to a disease called AIDS — Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome.

    How is HIV Spread?

HIV can spread from one person to another through:

  • Unprotected sexual contact with an infected person.
  • Sharing needles or syringes (for example, for drug use or tattoos).
  • From mother to child during pregnancy, childbirth, or breastfeeding (if not treated).
  • Through infected blood transfusions (though this is very rare today due to safety checks).
