• PRERANA is an experiential learning program initiated by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, aiming to empower youth through meaningful and inspiring experiences. This week-long residential program targets students from classes IX to XII, combining heritage with innovation to foster leadership qualities and a deep appreciation for India's rich cultural legacy.

  • Location: The program is conducted at the historic Vernacular School in Vadnagar, Gujarat. Established in 1888, this school is notable as the alma mater of India's Honorable Prime Minister and is situated in one of the country's oldest living cities, rich in heritage and history.
  • Participant Selection: Each week, 20 students (10 boys and 10 girls) are selected from various districts across India to participate in the program. Selection is based on registrations and a selection process detailed on the official PRERANA portal.
  • Program Activities:

  • Participants' daily routines begin with yoga sessions for mindfulness, followed by experiential learning sessions aligned with the program's value themes. Evening activities include visits to archaeological and historical sites, music sessions, film screenings, and talent shows. By the end of the week, students are encouraged to apply their learnings to create solutions for societal challenges, fostering a sense of responsibility and leadership.
